PSYCHOEDUCATIONAL EVALUATIONS
PARENTING EDUCATION PROGRAM
Comprehensive evaluations aimed at understanding a student’s learning and social-behavioral profile. These issues identify educational disorders such as learning disorder, ADHD, or intellectual disabilities guiding personalized strategies for school/home, informing IEPs/504 plans, and fostering academic success by identifying support that promotes optimal functioning.
Our parenting education program is designed to equip parents with the necessary skills to understand development, improve communication, and prioritize their children's well-being during life transitions, while fostering healthier co-parenting dynamics and better outcomes for kids. Targets for this program are court or social service involved parents who desire to be reunified with their children or need to reduce negative parent-child interactions. Conducted in face to face or online formats, the program lasts 8 weeks.

DR. SYRETTA R. JAMES, Ph.D. ABPP
Dr. Syretta R. James specializes in reimagining how behavioral health care is delivered across communities. She is a board-certified licensed psychologist, executive leader, and educator whose experience spans many settings including the family courts, schools, and community. With a doctorate from Howard University and specialized certifications in trauma, early childhood mental health, and family court, Dr. James’ work lives at the intersection of science, social justice, and service. She is passionate about improving outcomes for court-involved and marginalized populations while shaping trauma-informed practices that are both compassionate and evidence-based.
From publishing research to designing interdisciplinary interventions and programs for court or child-welfare-involved families and individuals with complex mental health challenges, her career reflects a deep commitment to leadership, learning, and legacy. She has a vast resume of volunteerism and generously serves on state and professional mental health boards.
Dr. James’ most impressive accomplishments include the implementation of an online parenting education program, supervision of clinicians in pursuit of professional independent licensure, the development of a continuing education program, and co-hosting a podcast.
